Contribution Scores (CS) (0-99) track how much an account is contributing to the health of our planet, our communities and our economies. The CS is a fundamental building block in empowering us to redesign our economies. The CS will enable Citizens to consciously decide and evolve what is considered a contribution to society, defined through categories, and directly compensate those actions.
The contributions of an account determine the Trust they receive for governance decisions (Citizens) and the share of the Harvest they receive (Residents and Citizens). This means you earn more voice and money the more you contribute to the health of our communities, economy and planet.
* Contribution Points are the basis for determining Contribution Scores. They are earned/lost for each contribution metric for an account (individual, organization or regional) based on a variety of actions. These points are then added up to provide point totals for each category of contributions.
* Contribution Scores (0-99) are determined by the percentile ratings of Contribution Point totals. Contribution Points are added up and ranked against all other accounts to receive a rating called a “score” for each contribution category. This score is based on a percentile scale between 0 - 99 where that account is ranked amongst all other qualifying accounts. The Contribution Score and percentile rating are intended to more equitably distribute wealth and influence amongst individuals, businesses and regional communities on a more equitable and equalizing percentile scale of 0 - 99.

DAOs are internet-native organizations collectively owned and managed by their members. Wikipedia defines DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) as an organization represented by rules encoded as a transparent computer program, controlled by the organization members, and not influenced by a central government. As the rules are embedded into the code, no managers are needed, thus removing any bureaucracy or hierarchy hurdles. Coined by Riane Eisler in The Chalice and the Blade - "Gy derives from the Greek root word gyne, or “woman.” An derives from andros, or “man.” The letter l between the two has a double meaning. In English, it stands for the linking of both halves of humanity, rather than, as in androcracy, their ranking. In Greek, it derives from the verb lyein or lyo, which in turn has a double meaning: to solve or resolve (as in analysis) and to dissolve or set free (as in catalysis). In this sense, the letter l stands for the resolution of our problems through the freeing of both halves of humanity from the stultifying and distorting rigidity of roles imposed by the domination hierarchies inherent in androcratic systems."

Regenerative Design
Regenerative
A process-oriented whole systems approach to design. The term "regenerative" describes processes that restore, renew or revitalize their own sources of energy and materials. Regenerative design uses whole systems thinking to create resilient and equitable systems that integrate the needs of society with the integrity of nature.
Whole-systems processes that integrate the needs of society with the integrity of nature to restore, renew and revitalize places to become resilient and equitable ecosystems. Regeneration uses systems thinking, permaculture, and community development processes to design human and ecological systems. The development of regenerative design has been influenced by approaches found in the biomimicry, biophilic design, ecological economics, circular economics. Players total Reputation Points ranked on a scale of 0-99 amongst all other Residents and Citizens using a spline curve and given a relative multiplier of 0-2 (see Reputation Multiplier Curve Table). This means that if an account has a multiplier of 0, then it will earn no rewards - regardless of the other scores. Likewise, if an account has a multiplier of 2, it will earn double the rewards it would have if it maintained a multiplier of 1 (which is the mean).

Restorative justice
An approach to justice where one of the responses to a crime is to organize a meeting between the victim and the offender, sometimes with representatives of the wider community. The goal is for them to share their experience of what happened, to discuss who was harmed by the crime and how, and to create a consensus for what the offender can do to repair the harm from the offense. This may include a payment of money given from the offender to the victim, apologies and other amends, and other actions to compensate those affected and to prevent the offender from causing future harm.

Sow (as in 'Sow your Seeds')
You “Sow Seeds” when you invite new people to join SEEDS by sending them Seeds. If they become Residents and Citizens, you earn more Seeds, which may be greater than the number of Seeds you sowed to invite them. In this way, it’s very much like sowing seeds - where some seeds may not sprout to bear fruit, while those that do return your seeds in greater abundance. By requiring people to send their Seeds to invite another person, you’re invested in that person becoming a Resident, and you’re limited in how many invites you can send.

Systems thinking
The interdisciplinary study of systems, i.e. cohesive groups of interrelated, interdependent parts that can be natural or human-made. Every system is bounded by space and time, influenced by its environment, defined by its structure and purpose, and expressed through its functioning. =Transition model=
Grassroot community projects that aim to increase self-sufficiency to reduce the potential effects of peak oil, climate destruction, and economic instability. In 2006, the founding of Transition Town Totnes in the United Kingdom became an inspiration for other groups to form. The Transition Network charity was founded in early 2007 to support these projects. A number of the groups are officially registered with the Transition Network. Transition initiatives have been started in locations around the world, with many located in the United Kingdom and others in Europe, North America and Australia.

Trust token
SEEDS decouples equity tokens and Trust (voice) tokens. In today’s dominant paradigm “money talks” and simply by virtue of having money, one could buy up a majority voice in any organisation. This is true of many crypto-projects as well. If we’re to build a system that can’t be co-opted or corrupted by our dominant paradigm, we cannot allow legacy value to buy governance in SEEDS. For this reason, Seeds are not what is counted when weighing voice, but rather the number of Trust Tokens an account has earned. Trust is earned through participation and contribution, where money committed is but one metric and not the whole story.

Glossary of Terms

Abundance Tokens[edit]

Abundance is a tool and exploration into radically redesigning how value is distributed. Abundance tokens can be earned through a multitude of Citizen chosen actions, such as paying more than the average price when using the Gift Economy API.

Allies/Alliances[edit]

Organisations, platforms and movements that have aligned with SEEDS and will accept Seeds and promote SEEDS. Some partners will offer discounts and other gifts to the Residents and Citizens of SEEDS.

Ambassador Academy[edit]

A program to help members understand the basic fundamentals of the SEEDS ecosystem and be prepared to set up pilots in their communities and organizations. The program has a length of approximately 1.5 - 2 lunar cycles.
Ambassador Academy website

Badges[edit]

Badges help members create new methods of acknowledging and distributing rights, information and value. They give various rights, abilities, and rewards to members who hold them. The design space for badges is expansive and SEEDS offers members the tools needed to create and issue such badges. How to secure a badge:

  1. Go to dho.hypha.earth and login with your SEEDS account name and private key
  2. Select the 'hamburger menu' (three horizontal bars) in the top left and select 'Badges' under 'Agreements'
  3. Find the badge you're seeking and select 'Apply'.
  4. Write a 50-100 word description, the start date ('start phase, choosing at least two weeks ahead to allow time for people to vote you in) and length of time you'd like to have the badge ('number of periods', where each period is a lunar cycle of 30 days); select 'Save draft'; then 'Propose' at the next screen.
  5. Ask for everyone to vote for you, including here: https://discord.com/channels/722537361480613950/758682282663477279/935851737166782485.
  6. Track your progress at Badge-assignments under 'Proposals'. You need 80% endorsement and 20% quorum ('voted').

Better-Than-Free[edit]

Accounts build their Contribution Score (and increase their Harvest) through transacting as opposed to being charged fees. So, not only are transactions free, but they are “better-than-free” because you can earn more Seeds for engaging in and supporting the Seeds marketplace.

Biomimicry[edit]

The emulation of the models, systems, and elements of nature for the purpose of solving complex human problems. Living organisms have evolved well-adapted structures and materials over geological time through natural selection. Humans have looked at nature for answers to problems throughout their existence. Nature has solved engineering problems such as self-healing abilities, environmental exposure tolerance and resistance, hydrophobicity, self-assembly, and harnessing solar energy.

Biophilic design[edit]

A concept used within the building industry to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through the use of direct nature, indirect nature, and space and place conditions. Used at both the building and city-scale, it is argued that this idea has health, environmental, and economic benefits for building occupants and urban environments, with few drawbacks. Although its name was coined in recent history, indicators of biophilic design have been seen in architecture from as far back as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Bioregion[edit]

A region defined by characteristics of the natural environment rather than by man-made divisions. Each Member and Organisation can choose which Bioregion they belong to. This is what SEEDS considers “local”.

Burning[edit]

A process in which Seeds are destroyed and removed from the ecosystem.

Campaign[edit]

Promotions for giving Seeds to communities and rewarding people for being part of the creation of a healthier society. People are gifted Seeds for educating others and doing good deeds.

Circular economy[edit]

An economy that uses a systems-focused approach and involves industrial processes and economic activities that are restorative or regenerative by design, enable resources used in such processes and activities to maintain their highest value for as long as possible, and aim for the elimination of waste through the superior design of materials, products, and systems (including business models).

Circulating Supply[edit]

In SEEDS, the supply of Seeds that are available for exchanging and trading. i.e. Seeds that are not Planted, in the Seed Bank or other system accounts.

Citizen[edit]

The type of individual account in SEEDS (following Visitor, Resident) which enables the most abilities:

Defining Visitors, Residents, Citizens
Requirements for becoming a Visitor, Resident, Citizen

Co-Learning spaces[edit]

Spaces for co-creating and co-learning about this new landscape and game. These spaces are designed to provide tiers of compensation to Players for taking an active role in researching, experimenting, movement building, knowledge sharing and more. Players earn badges and often direct compensation for participating and contributing to these spaces and those badges may offer various rewards and rights to the badgeholders. Co-Learning Spaces include:

=Community currency community currency might be local or be used for exchange within an online community

Community Fund[edit]

A dedicated fund to sponsor the Stake for Proposals, and is returned if the Proposal is successful. Details.

Conscious Currency[edit]

A currency that is evolvable (pseudo consciousness) and goes towards healing, regeneration and other activities that are for the wellbeing of all life (conscious).

Constitution[edit]

The document outlining the rules, intention and agreements of the SEEDS ecosystem. This document, once ratified, is only changed through decentralized governance and is referenced when conducting arbitration or making protocol upgrades.

Contribution/Contribution Score[edit]

This score is the combined total of all other scores (Planted Seeds Score, Transaction Score, Reputation Score, Community Building Score, etc.) that make up an account’s total contributions.

  • Contribution Points are the basis for determining Contribution Scores. They are earned/lost for each contribution metric for an account (individual, organization or regional) based on a variety of actions. These points are then added up to provide point totals for each category of contributions.
  • Contribution Scores (0-99) are determined by the percentile ratings of Contribution Point totals.

Contribution Score Categories

Conviction Voting[edit]

This ability allows Players to vote on open-ended proposals and to withdraw these votes again at any time. A vote gains more weight over time if it remains assigned to the proposal, and once withdrawn loses weight gradually, similar to a bucket that slowly fills with water or drains water if there’s a small hole.

Council[edit]

A distinction for those who secure and apply evolutions to the network. Similar to 'witnesses' and 'block producers', from other networks.

Cryptocurrency[edit]

A digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank.

Cycle[edit]

A lunar cycle. 29.5 days. This is the most referred unit of time in SEEDS.

DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization)[edit]

An entity with no central leadership. Decisions are made from the bottom-up, governed by a community organized around a specific set of rules enforced on a blockchain. SEEDS utilizes a human-centric version of DAO known as DHO (Decentralized_Human_Organization).

DAC (Decentralized Autonomous Corporation)[edit]

A subgroup of DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) except that a DAC pays dividends. There is a concept of shares in a DAC which are purchaseable and tradeable in some fashion, and those shares potentially entitle their holders to continual receipts based on the DAC’s success.

Dashboard[edit]

The main screen of the Global Passport.

Deferred Seeds[edit]

Seeds that aren't available or liquid until going through the Harvest after Go Live.

Delegate[edit]

An action of entrusting another account with directing your Trust Tokens.

Delegatee[edit]

One who receives the delegation of Trust Tokens from another Citizen.

Delegator[edit]

One who delegates their Trust Tokens to another Citizen.

DHO (Decentralized Human Organization)[edit]

A framework to build an organization from the ground up in an organic and participative way and together with others. The DHO is in many ways similar to a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organisation Except in that it places the humans that comprise it in the center. Opposed to trying to automate humans away, the DHO seeks to automate the majority of tasks to empower humans to more effectively and joyfully collaborate.

DHO Global (G-DHO) - Global Decentralized Holonic Organisation[edit]

The G-DHO is a single account that’s managed by all the Citizens of SEEDS. It is the owner of the SEEDS contracts and through decentralized governance by the citizens of SEEDS can upgrade contracts, change parameters and distribute funds for global initiatives.

DHO Regional (R-DHO) - Regional Decentralized Holonic Organisation[edit]

The R-DHO is the regional equivalent to the G-DHO. Each Citizen belongs to a R-DHO for their local community. This is used to finance local projects and evolve local governance processes.

Ecological economics[edit]

A transdisciplinary and an interdisciplinary field of academic research addressing the interdependence and coevolution of human economies and natural ecosystems, both intertemporally and spatially.By treating the economy as a subsystem of Earth's larger ecosystem, and by emphasizing the preservation of natural capital, the field of ecological economics is differentiated from environmental economics, which is the mainstream economic analysis of the environment.

Exchanges (as in 'Buy Seeds on exchanges')[edit]

Seeds may be offered up for exchange on a number of platforms that facilitate the conversion and trade of a wide variety of assets. You can buy and sell Seeds on these exchanges.

Fiat Currency[edit]

The government-issued currency that is not backed by a physical commodity, such as gold or silver.

Global Passport[edit]

A mobile application for accessing SEEDS. If SEEDS is the internet, the Passport is but a single site on it. Other methods for accessing SEEDS already exist (such as the Light Wallet). The Passport is meant to offer the tools for people to create “Minimum Viable Societies” and use this application to create a foundation for new and regenerative global civilizations. The Passport comes with the following key features:

  1. A forum section for earning reputation for sharing wisdom, proposing changes, discussing projects, and more.
  2. A people section for connecting and meeting other Players.
  3. A governance section for voting on proposals.
  4. A ”Game of SEEDS” section for doing quests, earning Seeds and learning about this renaissance in a more joyful way!
  5. A wallet section for all your economic actions.

Go Live[edit]

The milestone when Citizens vote on whether or not they believe the SEEDS economy is robust enough to start stabilising the value of the Seeds currency and start the "Harvest". This occurs when the SEEDS economy is large enough to start meeting needs using Seeds. This event won't occur until the price of Seeds is at least $0.80 USD.

Governance[edit]

The process of direct, transparent and quantifiable impact in the evolution of all rules, protocols and value distribution of SEEDS.

Gratitude Tokens[edit]

Gratitude is a tool and exploration into radically redesigning how value is distributed. It’s a way to build gratitude into the foundation of our new culture. Gratitude helps Players sense, recognise and distribute value to other Players for contributions of all kinds to the wellbeing of our new civilizations and the people that comprise them.

Growing[edit]

The term used to describe the minting process of generating new Seeds. At the same time, Bitcoin uses an energy-intensive “mining” process. Eosio (the protocol under SEEDS) is 64000 times more energy efficient as it uses a different protocol to Bitcoin to secure the network. eosio2 which came out at the beginning of 2020 is an additional 16 times more efficient.

Gylanic[edit]

A social system based on equality of women and men.

Harvest[edit]

The process by which new Seeds are algorithmically created and distributed to the whole ecosystem. The Harvest produces the new Seeds that participants earn for contributing to SEEDS. Once the community approves the Go Live event and Seeds begin to stabalise, the distribution of Seeds will go through the Harvest.

Harvest Seeds[edit]

Harvest Seeds are liquid Seeds generated by the Harvest contract.

Hypha DHO[edit]

A DHO to develop tools for Regenerative Villages to coordinate, create bespoke economies, redesign governance while providing opportunities to investors to own fractions of Regenerative Villages and benefit from financing the transition to regenerative civilizations. Website

Light Wallet[edit]

The Light Wallet offers Players a light-weight tool to participate in SEEDS. With a focus on providing tools for merchants and businesses. The Light Wallet comes with the following key features:

  1. Basic and advanced wallets.
  2. Access and sign action on your DHO or Swaps sites.
  3. Setup “Key Guardians” to recover your account should you lose your keys.
  4. Setup your storefront, marketstall, or business on SEEDS to accept payments.

Liquid Democracy[edit]

This ability allows Players to vote directly on proposals or to delegate their vote to other Players at will, to represent them in each category of governance.

Liquid Seeds[edit]

Seeds that are able to be transacted immediately.

Local currency[edit]

A currency that can be spent in a particular geographical locality at participating organizations and exchanged within an online community. Learn more at Local currency on Wikipedia.

MoM DHO[edit]

The Movement of Movement DHO to...

Money[edit]

Money is said to have three primary characteristics: 1. Store of value 2. Unit of account 3. Medium of exchange Seeds aim to optimise money by making it a better unit of account - by creating a more stable currency - and medium of exchange - by creating “better-than-free” methods to exchange money.

Multi-Option Voting[edit]

This ability allows Players to pick one of many options within a proposal. This tool helps crowd-source wisdom and find the most preferred outcomes.

National Currency Liquidity[edit]

A national currency is a legal tender issued by a country's central bank or monetary authority, for example, USD, GBP, AUD. Liquidity refers to the availability of cash or cash equivalents to meet short-term operating needs. In other words, liquidity is the amount of liquid assets that are available to pay expenses and debts as they become due.

Passport[edit]

Also Global Passport.

Peer-to-Peer Exchanges[edit]

Where the people of SEEDS exchange their various currencies directly with each other as opposed to through centralized exchanges. I.e. Bob can trade Joe 100 USD for 100 Seeds by sending Joe 100 USD directly to his bank account. This is mediated by escrowed smart contracts.

Permaculture[edit]

An approach to land management and settlement design that adopts arrangements observed in flourishing natural ecosystems. It includes a set of design principles derived using whole-systems thinking. It applies these principles in fields such as regenerative agriculture, town planning, rewilding, and community resilience. Permaculture originally came from "permanent agriculture", but was later adjusted to mean "permanent culture", incorporating social aspects.

Planted Seeds[edit]

Staked, locked away, similar to a “term deposit”. When Seeds are Planted, accounts restrict their access to them in exchange for a higher Contribution Score and increased bandwidth for transactions. This ensures that people who are using the network are financially committed to the network.

Player[edit]

Any account within SEEDS is considered a Player. This is the term that comprises Visitors, Residents and Citizens.

Pre-Cast Vote[edit]

Voting 'For', 'Against' or 'Abstain' for a Campaign before choosing how many of your votes (Trust Tokens) you are willing to distribute among the Campaigns you Pre-Cast Voted for.

Proof of Stake (PoS)[edit]

A protocol of block verification based on how many coins the account holds. This system solely rewards those who have the currency based on how much currency that user has. PoS systems give the most voice and rewards (harvest) to those with the most money.

Proof of Work (PoW)[edit]

A protocol of block creation based on processing power (work). This is the basis of ‘mining’.

Proposals[edit]

There are two types of Proposals:

  1. Campaign proposals are for offering a gift to a wide number of people for doing any number of actions that benefit people or our planet, as voted by the Citizens of SEEDS.
  2. Alliance proposals are for gifting aligned organisations, movements or businesses a share of Seeds in gratitude for the actions they’ve taken to create a healthier civilization and to align their interests with the SEEDS economy.

Regenerative[edit]

Whole-systems processes that integrate the needs of society with the integrity of nature to restore, renew and revitalize places to become resilient and equitable ecosystems. Regeneration uses systems thinking, permaculture, and community development processes to design human and ecological systems. The development of regenerative design has been influenced by approaches found in the biomimicry, biophilic design, ecological economics, circular economics. Regenerative design can also refer to process of designing systems such as restorative justice, rewilding and regenerative agriculture.

Regenerative agriculture[edit]

A conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming systems. It focuses on topsoil regeneration, increasing biodiversity,[1] improving the water cycle,[2] enhancing ecosystem services, supporting biosequestration,[3] increasing resilience to climate change, and strengthening the health and vitality of farm soil.

Regenerative development[edit]

Application of regenerative principles to place-based restoration and development. See What is regenerative? for regenerative development criteria at the Regenerative Living Institute. The diagram below distinguishes development that is regenerative (green, on the right) from degenerative (red, on the left).
A diagram of what is regenerative development by the Regenesis Group

Renaissance Explorers[edit]

A place for advanced Players who want to dive into the depths of this game. This is a space to tap into future possibilities, redesign our inner and outer landscapes, test models, experiment with new protocols, engage with the Citizens and propose evolutions to the game.

Renaissance U[edit]

A place to explore all the other tools, ecosystems and projects that comprise the Regenerative Renaissance and how Players can engage with these other tools to create Regenerative Civilizations.

Reputation[edit]

The foundational metric of trust within the SEEDS ecosystem, it’s how Players determine which accounts are human, trusted, unique and beneficial to the health of the whole system.

Reputation Points[edit]

Points that accounts earn for participating in governance, maintaining trust, and other ways of contributing to SEEDS.

Reputation Score[edit]

Total Reputation Points are added and ranked on a scale of 0-99 amongst all other Residents and Citizens to determine Reputation Score.

  1. An account’s Reputation Score (0-99) is translated using a spline curve into a multiplier (where 99 = 2 and 50 = 1) which is applied throughout SEEDS in various actions, totals and scores.
  2. Reputation gives Citizens a building block to recognise beneficial actions and defend against a variety of abuse and attacks.
  3. Reputation has the ability to zero out any rewards.
  4. Reputation Multiplier Curve Table Visualised:

Restorative justice[edit]

An approach to justice where one of the responses to a crime is to organize a meeting between the victim and the offender, sometimes with representatives of the wider community. The goal is for them to share their experience of what happened, to discuss who was harmed by the crime and how, and to create a consensus for what the offender can do to repair the harm from the offense. This may include a payment of money given from the offender to the victim, apologies and other amends, and other actions to compensate those affected and to prevent the offender from causing future harm.

Reward Depreciation[edit]

Rewards for a Resident will drop from initial 750 down to about 500 Seeds when the Resident count reaches about 46,000. And the reward for a Citizen will drop from initial 1250 down to about 1000 Seeds when the Citizen count reached about 17,000. You can see the live Resident and Citizen counts on the SEEDS home page.

Resident reward.png Citizen reward.png

Rewilding[edit]

Conservation efforts aimed at restoring and protecting natural processes and wilderness areas. This may include providing connectivity between such areas, and protecting or reintroducing apex predators and keystone species.

Samara[edit]

A “generation 2 DHO” focused on serving the people and projects of the Regenerative Renaissance with running pilots and on-the-ground activations of movement building. They’re currently in the DNA stage and discovering what their purpose is. If you’re wanting to deeply commit to creating a new type of organisation focused on growing the Regenerative Renaissance — this may be the place for you!

SEEDizen[edit]

A registered member of SEEDS, completed through the SEEDS Passport.

SEEDS[edit]

A decentralized financial system based on regenerative values, governed directly by the citizens. It is the collective name for the protocols, accounts and smart contracts that make up this new ecosystem. It is designed to finance a regenerative economy by subsidizing and rewarding regenerative practices (social, environmental, financial and other domains), campaigns, and solutions; aligning business incentives towards regeneration; providing grants for regenerative projects and campaigns; and empowering local and circular economies through subsidizing the transition to regenerative industries.

  • SEEDS is the name of the protocols, accounts and smart contracts that make up the open-source code-base and ecosystem.
  • Seeds is the name of the currency used in the SEEDS ecosystem.

Seeds[edit]

Name of the currency used by the SEEDS Ecosystem. Divisible to four decimal points. Use interchangeably with ‘token’.

Seed Bank[edit]

A part of SEEDS - a series of banking contracts that fulfil many functions of legacy banks to offer a variety of financial services, such as CDP’s (collateralized debt positions), decentralized monetary policy and more.

Seeds Tokens[edit]

Seeds are a tool that looks and acts most similar to money from the legacy games. These characteristics were chosen to give Players a money tool similar to what they’re already used to, in order to start playing, contributing, building value and exchanging with each other more readily.

Self Organization[edit]

The process by which individuals organize their communal behavior to create global order by interactions amongst themselves rather than through external intervention or instruction.

Staking[edit]

The act of locking up your Seeds for a select period of time. For Proposals, these are Seeds that are locked up during the Proposal process and repaid if successful or burned if the Proposal fails.

Star'DHO[edit]

A DHO to empower humans with tools to joyfully self-organize. For more information please get in touch with Ana (discord name ana.healingwords) or Irina (discord name Irina Stoica).

Sow (as in 'Sow your Seeds')[edit]

You “Sow Seeds” when you invite new people to join SEEDS by sending them Seeds. If they become Residents and Citizens, you earn more Seeds, which may be greater than the number of Seeds you sowed to invite them. In this way, it’s very much like sowing seeds - where some seeds may not sprout to bear fruit, while those that do return your seeds in greater abundance. By requiring people to send their Seeds to invite another person, you’re invested in that person becoming a Resident, and you’re limited in how many invites you can send.

Systems thinking[edit]

The interdisciplinary study of systems, i.e. cohesive groups of interrelated, interdependent parts that can be natural or human-made. Every system is bounded by space and time, influenced by its environment, defined by its structure and purpose, and expressed through its functioning. A system may be more than the sum of its parts if it expresses synergy or emergent behavior.

Tokens[edit]

A cryptographically secured digital representation of a set of rights, including smart contracts, provided on a digital platform. Tokens help Players create new methods of tracking, exchanging, and distributing information and value. There are 3 main types of tokens within SEEDS:

  1. Currencies and Assets
    1. Can be purchased and sold.
    2. Used to exchange and distribute value amongst Players.
    3. Example: Seeds Tokens
  2. Governance
    1. Cannot be purchased or sold; only earned.
    2. Used to distribute voice amongst Players.
  3. Points (Coordination)
    1. Cannot be purchased or sold; only earned.
    2. Used to distribute and track the value of Players as they contribute to the game.
    3. Example: Gratitude Tokens, Abundance Tokens

Total Supply[edit]

The total amount of Seeds in existence at the moment, minus any coins that have been verified as burned.

Transaction[edit]

Any blockchain action (not just sending Seeds), like giving ratings, vouching, forum votes, casting Trust Tokens.

Transition model[edit]

Grassroot community projects that aim to increase self-sufficiency to reduce the potential effects of peak oil, climate destruction, and economic instability. In 2006, the founding of Transition Town Totnes in the United Kingdom became an inspiration for other groups to form. The Transition Network charity was founded in early 2007 to support these projects. A number of the groups are officially registered with the Transition Network. Transition initiatives have been started in locations around the world, with many located in the United Kingdom and others in Europe, North America and Australia.

Trust token[edit]

Unity (Consensus)[edit]

The threshold of agreement that needs to be reached for a proposal or referendum to pass.

Visitor/Resident/Citizen[edit]

Visitors, Residents and Citizens are the 3 types of individual accounts in SEEDS, starting with Visitor, then Resident, then Citizen which enables the most abilities.

Requirements for becoming a Visitor, Resident, Citizen

Vouching[edit]

Confirming the trust of newly registered SEEDizens, who need to be vouched by Residents or Citizens in order to become a Resident, then a Citizen. The higher the account status (Resident, Citizen) and Reputation Score of the person vouching for someone, the more Reputation Points you will receive (50 are needed). Residents can contribute up to 20 Reputation Points, and Citizens up to 40 Reputation Points.

Wallet[edit]

Wallets hold the private keys that control your assets. Many applications have a wallet built in, where you’re able to transfer and control all your SEEDS assets.

Weighted Voting[edit]

This ability allows Players to quantify how much for or against a proposal they are. Opposed to the binary “yay or nay” of classical democracy, Players get to choose a range of options to express their perspectives (e.g. I’m 100% for this or 10% against this).
